Sometimes your day starts out chasing little ones around the house, out of the trash cans – and plant pots, just one more sibling argument away from loss of sanity. You know, just a normal day.
Last week, this was the kind of morning I was having. It was the beginning of summer and I was (ok, still am) trying to find the summertime groove. As a matter of fact, I had 3 Facebook posts that morning… These are portions of what I posted,
local media and airport authorities report that the airport will also be closed tomorrow, as a precaution, to allow the Italian Army to defuse a 250-pound World War 2 bomb recently found
This status update,
As Enzo is throwing himself on the street having a tantrum because I was making him hold my hand, another mother asked if I was having any more children. Umm, no. But I had to wonder what she was thinking…”I hope you don’t have any more kids, lady, you can’t handle the people you already have” or “you should have a football team cause you handled that tantrum like a BOSS!”
And these pictures,
And then my phone made that magical sound that only happens when I have an Etsy conversation alert.
My heart stopped as I read,
i am the Production Designer on a Movie that we are shooting…i found your adorable handmade dolls online and i wondered if you would be interested in our featuring your doll in the movie? i can send you the part where it’s featured in the script if you’d like via email… it’s a super moving part of the movie and i think it could be really great product placement for your dolls.
I may or may not have done a pretty significant happy dance, waited like 5 minutes to respond (I wanted to come across as totally cool) and then got straight to work! I worked all through the night making 2 new dolls according to what the designer was looking for and came up with these dolls. I was completely in love with them!
I mailed them off (with a very expensive shipping charge, I might add) with a guaranteed 3-day delivery. 10 days later, they were delivered, but the production site had since moved from where the dolls were shipped. Whomp, whomp.
But this is what I know. You never know what is going to happen! If a day can begin with temper tantrums, dirt everywhere, and a 250 lb bomb diffusion, and end with the production of doll movie stars, anything can happen! The movie is still in production, the dolls aren’t where they need to be anymore, but I’m holding out hope! If it all comes together I will be over the moon. If it doesn’t, it’s still a good story under my belt and an amazing honor that bb&j dolls were recognized in such a wonderful and fun way!
